I Bet You'd Look Good In A Coffin by Katy Brent

Kitty Collins, serial killer, is a reformed character since she started a relationship with her boyfriend Charlie. The rage inside which encouraged her to go out and kill has been tamed. The meteoric rise of a new misogynistic influencer is about to change all that.

Author Katy Brent introduced the world to serial killer Kitty Collins in How To Kill Men And Get Away With It. Kitty is an Insta famous "It girl" with a skewed moral code; she rids the world of deviant men. In I Bet You'd Look Good In A Coffin we see a much more mellow Kitty. She's all loved up and this has helped to calm some of her fury. It's not completely suppressed so she also attends, anonymously, a support group so that she has a place to vent her frustration.

A tsunami of events brings things to a head, resulting in Kitty being unable to suppress her anger any longer. The most pressing issue is a social media influencer who is openly misogynistic. It is fairly obvious who this character is based on and the behaviour and reactions are in line with what we see playing out in real life. Kitty gives voice to the feelings of many women, making her objections so vocal makes her a target.

Kitty has the opportunity to flee to the south of France to attend the wedding of her mother and a man she has never met. The location is the perfect place for lots of dressing up and name-dropping. Unfortunately, it looks as if the influencer may have followed Kitty and her life begins to spiral out of control, resulting in her suspecting her mother's fiance of being devious. Not only does she believe he's after her mother's money, she also believes he's the influencer who is targeting her. Kitty's erratic behaviour puts her life at risk. Luckily, unexpected support arrives just when she needs it most, giving the series multiple opportunities for the future.

I Bet You's Look Good In a Coffin by Katy Brent will be published on 30th January 2025 in paperback, ebook and audio format. My thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins for a review copy.
